HBOS Australia Foundation
The HBOS Australia Foundation is part of our commitment to corporate
responsibility and recognises our role in helping to improve the lives of
disadvantaged Australians.
The Foundation operates as an independent company, working with charitable and
not-for-profit organisations across the country.
Since its launch to HBOS Australia colleagues in 2006, the Foundation has contributed more than $2.2 million to a long list of causes including the homeless, disadvantaged youth, indigenous youth, the sight-impaired and water-safety education.
The Foundation's philosophy is to create sustainable partnerships that deliver
real value. We involve our business partners, our colleagues and their families
in providing assistance through dedicated resources and financial support.
Our activities focus on three key areas:
1. Grants
- A national program where contributions are made to charities/community programs
selected by the Foundation Board each year
- A regional program where each state receives an allocated amount to contribute to local charities/community programs.
2. Fundraising
The Foundation facilitates various colleague fundraising activities including a
matched funding program in conjunction with HBOS plc.
3. Volunteering
The Foundation also facilitates a colleague volunteering program, providing
direct volunteer opportunities and strong encouragement to take part in
supporting the communities in which colleagues live and work.
